Thank you for visiting our new site at TrainMyVenue.com and as one of the original founders I am delighted be announcing the launch of the second generation of this exciting venture. It all began as an idea born out of a conversation among some people who are passionate about the hospitality and tourism industry.
The conversation about providing an on-demand, online learning resource centre rambled over many meals, delightful beverages and the odd formal boardroom meeting. Contributions came from numerous interest groups, skill sets and corporate players which culminated in the launch of the first generation of TMV in 2009 with Fosters Brewing building and managing this subscription based service. The service was embraced by some hotel industry players and the journey began. A couple of years further on, and the changing landscape of the corporate beverage world, the vocational training sector and the more immediate demands of a tech savvy workforce provided an opportunity to revitalise TMV as a subscription based online community of hospitality, tourism and leisure industry professionals.
TMV is now owned and operated by UMT Consulting Pty Ltd and the mission is “increasing professional pride and improving service engagement”. The new image is contemporary, the content is continually growing, there is opportunity for industry engagement and we will continue to stay at the leading edge of technology in our delivery of information to service professionals. One thing has remained constant since the very first discussions about how to support venues and staff in a highly transient and predominantly casual employment sector – that is our PASSION. TMV is committed to supporting people who are passionate about the hospitality, tourism and leisure sector. Whether they are corporate employers, sophisticated investors, small business owners or the casual employee who loves rocking up to work for a shift in a genuine hospitality venue. Train My Venue will provide a resource to help build that professional pride while doing what we do best, engaging our customers with great service.
